Grants
Wild Ones
The Lorrie Otto Seeds for Education grant program (SFE) advances Wild Ones’ mission to spread awareness of the benefits of using native plants by providing funding for native plants and native seeds for projects that engage youth (preschool to high school) directly in planning, planting and caring for native plant gardens. The 2025 grant application will open on July 14th and will close on November 15th at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
New River VNPS
The Virginia Native Plant Society (VNPS) New River Chapter Grant works to support community and educational projects focusing on native plants in counties of Bland, Carroll, Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski and Wythe and the towns of Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and City of Radford. Projects funded by this award can range from native plant gardens installed or invasive species removal in neighborhood common spaces, schools, or on conserved land to undergraduates at Virginia Tech and Radford University with research projects that work to better understand or preserve Virginia native flora. Applicants are not limited to only these three types of projects; we encourage applicants with any creative project ideas to apply as well.
